Tarkwa
Kelvin has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Kelvin can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Kelvin's family will cook lunch for the team. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • You're not alone. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 4 people at work. Take care

    • Hope it all works out, Kweku. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in Makati but we're thinking of you.

      • Hope the doctors have good news. Put this on a community board in Gwagwalada this morning.
