The flood hit Greenfield village on 2 August. My home was one of 60 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters. Where the $1,300 goes: • Clean water and purification supplies: $175 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $210 • Tools and labor for repairs: $480 • Food parcels for displaced families: $435 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Good luck, Beatriz. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.

Sending good thoughts, Beatriz. I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
