Ben is two terms away from finishing an electrical engineering diploma but is blocked from enrolling by an unpaid balance of $4,100.

Ben is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Essen Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,100.
The registrar has said Ben can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Ben has a distinction average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Ben would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Ben isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $4,100 goes:
• Final term tuition: $2,400
• Textbooks and materials: $210
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,490

Updates from Markus
Thank you all. We're at 86% now ($3,519). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for outstanding tuition balance is now scheduled.
Update from Essen: I made the first payment toward textbooks and materials. We're at 35% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

good luck, Markus. Looking forward to the next update. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Hope it all works out. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Los Angeles this morning. Thinking of Essen
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Essen!
