Back on our feet: Mwanaisha and twin daughters in Nairobi
Mwanaisha and twin daughters need a bridge to stability after the death of my husband.
🇰🇪 Kenya571 views
Last August I went through the death of my husband, and I'm now raising twin daughters on my own. I work as a part-time receptionist, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a pharmacy technician in the evenings, which will triple my income by October, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Money goes toward rent, groceries, after-school care and the cost of my course. I'll give a monthly update with receipts.
Where the $650 goes:
• Rent top-up: $160
• Childcare and after-school care: $260
• Groceries and school meals: $160
• Course fees and exam costs: $70

Sending strength. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Put this on a community board in Ogbomosho this morning. Love from Ogbomosho!
Wishing you the best, Mwanaisha. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Sending strength, Mwanaisha. It takes guts to ask. Well done. God bless
Best of luck, Mwanaisha. This could happen to any of us. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Rooting for you, Mwanaisha. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. All the best.
