Build a wheelchair ramp for Evelyn in Geelong

Evelyn uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Evelyn has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Evelyn can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Evelyn's family will cook lunch for the team. Thank you so much.

sending strength, Reagan. Shared it with a few friends. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

    • Hope things get better soon, Reagan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours

      • wishing you the best, Reagan. Hope the doctors have good news. After 14 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything!
