Akello's septoplasty can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After an aortic valve defect, Akello was cleared for septoplasty, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Akello was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in June. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,100, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $550 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since June. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Akello struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Akello won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.

• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $95
• Physiotherapy sessions: $125
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $260
• Post-operative medication: $45
• Travel and lodging for the family: $25

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Akello.
