A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Warangal

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 221 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $400 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 Glad we found this place.
