For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 426 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $250 goes: • Materials: $175 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $15 • Tools hire and delivery: $10 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
