A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Stockholm
Volunteers in Stockholm are raising $2,000 for a youth football pitch at the old Freedom bus depot.
🇸🇪 Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden948 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Freedom bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,000.
It will serve about 522 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $115
• Materials: $1,750
• Permits and inspections: $135
Thanks for reading all this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Agnes.
It's all in the list in the story. safety equipment and signage is the big one at $115, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Ask me anything else.
You're not alone, Agnes. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Dhaka but we're thinking of you. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Agnes. Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Houston so I could bring a meal.
