For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,100. It will serve about 569 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $3,100 goes: • Materials: $1,950 • Permits and inspections: $240 • Safety equipment and signage: $300 • Tools hire and delivery: $610 I hope life is good to you.
