A weekly visit for Lauren, 77, who lives alone in San Diego

I'm writing for my neighbor Lauren, who's 77. Lauren lives alone in San Diego, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives several hours away. Lauren loves cricket, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
