Irene was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in May. The surgeon at Ciudad de México University Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,600, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,800 short.
my sister has been in and out of Ciudad de México University Hospital since May. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,600 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Irene struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Irene won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
