Alicja has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to Warsaw General Hospital alone. After a minor stroke, Alicja can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 8 km each way. Alicja is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Hang in there, Barbara. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 27 years in engineering I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Thinking of Warsaw.

Sending strength, Barbara. Hope you get there. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Malang
