A weekly ride to the Gangnam Kidney Centre for Gun-woo

A rota of drivers to the Gangnam Kidney Centre would keep Gun-woo on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Gun-woo has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Gangnam Kidney Centre alone. After a foot amputation, Gun-woo can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 11 km each way. Gun-woo is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

You're not alone, Ji-hye. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Medan.

    • Sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Cluj-Napoca this morning. God bless.
