A weekly ride to Austin Regional Medical Center for Lourdes

A rota of drivers to Austin Regional Medical Center would keep Lourdes on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Lourdes has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to Austin Regional Medical Center alone. After an eyesight problem, Lourdes can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 17 km each way. Lourdes is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thanks for being kind about this.
