A stair-climbing aid for Joanna: help me move freely
Joanna needs a stair-climbing aid that the health system won't fund; the cost is $1,200.

I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at the Warsaw Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,200.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $910
• Fitting and training sessions: $125
• Delivery and set-up: $60
• First-year servicing plan: $105
I hope life is good to you.

Sending good thoughts. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Dharan.
