A solar-powered water pump: a volunteer-led effort in Wudil

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Park, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 578 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $260 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $30 • Tools hire and delivery: $30 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
