A skate park for the Acacia health centre yard: help our neighbors in Salvador

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,050. It will serve about 85 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,050 goes: • Materials: $830 • Permits and inspections: $60 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $105 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
