Justice shouldn't depend on a bank balance: Henrik's citizenship application
A citizenship application deadline is approaching and Henrik can't afford the lawyer.
🇸🇪 Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden3,057 views
I'm facing a citizenship application. My hearing is scheduled for November, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $2,250. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Attorney retainer: $1,750
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $230
• Filing and biometrics fees: $270
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Stockholm.

Stay strong, Henrik. Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
