Fort Worth
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,700. It will serve about 160 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,700 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $310 • Materials: $1,200 • Permits and inspections: $190 Thank you so much. - Isaac

  • Take care, Isaac. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
