Sevgi has been on dialysis for 2 years and until recently drove to Karlsruhe General Hospital alone. After surgery on their hand, Sevgi can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 11 km each way. Sevgi is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Best of luck, Irmak. Your post was clear and honest. After 15 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Karlsruhe.

    • Hang in there. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

      • Rooting for you, Irmak. This could happen to any of us. Sent it to 30 people at work. Greetings from Nashville.
