The electricity and water account is 4 months behind. Zahra received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on February unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before my partner leaving the household. Zahra called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which isn't available. The household includes three children under ten, and going through the rainy season without electricity and water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. Zahra is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Zahra's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $150 goes: • Water arrears: $70 • Reconnection and late fees: $25 • Down payment on a payment plan: $55 I hope life is good to you.

    • Hope things get better soon, Lukman. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Yogyakarta this morning. All the best.

        • Best of luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care!

          • I hope things turn around soon. Sent it to 25 people at work. Thinking of Jakarta Barat.
