Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Mumbai.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Saturday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 260 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Mumbai market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $260
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $180
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
• Refrigeration and electricity: $5

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Vihaan
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) comes first ($260) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Appreciate you taking the time.
I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Kaduna.
Praying for you, Vihaan. Great idea, hope you get there. After 27 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
How is Vihaan doing now?
Hope things get better soon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Mbarara.
praying for you, Vihaan. Hope this works out for you. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Mumbai.
Thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
Wishing you peace, Vihaan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. God bless.
