A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Yonkers
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $3,900 for materials.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,900.
It will serve about 157 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
