A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Saint Paul
Volunteers in Saint Paul are raising $3,600 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the Cedar health centre yard.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,600.
It will serve about 109 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,600 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $400
• Materials: $2,850
• Safety equipment and signage: $350
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Jocelyn?
Thank you. If you're in Saint Paul I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for looking so closely.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I have a 13 year old who wants to send good wishes too
Sending good thoughts. I hope things turn around soon. Blessings
Good luck, Jocelyn. It takes guts to ask. Well done. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Casablanca.
Rooting for you, Jocelyn. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
