Help Achieng pay for a partial thyroidectomy at Arusha University Hospital
Achieng needs a partial thyroidectomy at Arusha University Hospital and the family is $650 short of the hospital's estimate.

Achieng was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in June. The surgeon at Arusha University Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,100, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $650 short.
my wife has been in and out of Arusha University Hospital since June. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Achieng struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Achieng won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $650 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $25
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $310
• Post-operative medication: $45
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $270
Thanks for being kind about this.
