A repair café workshop for Freedom Primary School: help our neighbors in Gwangju

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $2,200 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,200. It will serve about 188 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,200 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $115 • Materials: $1,900 • Permits and inspections: $185 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
