Alexandria
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 217 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $200 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Malak

Updates from Malak

  1. Quick update: $268 raised so far (76%). I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Update from Alexandria: I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage. We're at 14% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
