Annelie lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Soweto Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,100. Her current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment Annelie could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,100 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $45 • pair of hearing aids: $960 • First-year servicing plan: $95 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
