A licensed HVAC technician to fix a dangerous fault at Kevin's home in Nairobi

Kevin has faulty wiring that trips the power and smells of burning, and can't afford a licensed HVAC technician to fix it; a few hours of professional help would make the home safe.

In September an inspector told me that my home has faulty wiring that trips the power and smells of burning. It's a safety risk for me and my elderly mother. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $260 are beyond us. I'm looking for a licensed HVAC technician who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $45. The job should take about three hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request. If you're a HVAC technician and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Kevin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

    • Thinking of you and your family, Kevin. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together.

      • Best of luck. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. It's not much but it's yours. All the best.
