For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $90, and the remaining cost is $700. It will serve about 403 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $700 goes: • Materials: $550 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Tools hire and delivery: $65 With deep gratitude, Hadi

  • Thanks for sharing this. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Saint-Denis donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
