We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $150 for materials.

Nagpur
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom community hall, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $55, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 370 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $150 goes: • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $20 • Tools hire and delivery: $90 Thank you for reading my story. - Salma

Great help in a difficult time

The support I received was beyond what I expected. Not only did they help with the immediate need, but they also provided guidance for long-term solutions. I'm forever grateful.

    Amazing support system

I was going through a tough time and this person's support was invaluable. They didn't judge, just helped. That kind of genuine compassion is rare these days.
