Feed 123 families each week at the Second Helping in Jodhpur
The the Second Helping pantry in Jodhpur is running low just as demand rises; $300 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 123 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 56% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Jodhpur market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $115
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $75
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Every share and every dollar helps.
Updates from Ajay
Small update. $191 so far, I made the first payment toward fresh vegetables and fruit.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($140 in total) I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
