A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Kyiv
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $950 for materials.
🇺🇦 Kyiv, Kyiv, Ukraine1,146 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $950.
It will serve about 279 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $950 goes:
• Materials: $730
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $130
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
Updates from Kateryna
Update from Kyiv: I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery. We're at 14% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
