Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Lahore
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Sycamore Park that will serve 341 neighbors.
🇵🇰 Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan1,549 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 341 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $310
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $100
