A community garden for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Mar del Plata
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $1,200 for materials.
Anywhere in the world1,551 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,200.
It will serve about 96 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Materials: $870
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $125
• Tools hire and delivery: $160
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Thanks for sharing this, Nuria. Great idea, hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Prayagraj so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Augsburg.
Hope things get better soon, Nuria. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Mar del Plata
Keep going. I hope things turn around soon. After 26 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
wishing you the best. Hope you get there. Thinking of Mar del Plata.
More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
