Dwarka

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 267 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $220 • Permits and inspections: $55 • Safety equipment and signage: $30 • Tools hire and delivery: $95 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
