A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in A Coruña
Volunteers in A Coruñan are raising $500 for a sensory garden for children with autism at Harmony Park.
🇪🇸 A Coruña, Galicia, Spain450 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 412 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $210
• Permits and inspections: $150
• Safety equipment and signage: $140
With deep gratitude,
Salvador

Thinking of you and your family, Salvador. I hope things turn around soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money
