A community fridge for the Freedom vacant lot: help our neighbors in Rohini
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $450 for materials.
🇮🇳 India897 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 469 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $450 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Materials: $370
• Permits and inspections: $20
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from San Jose.
good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. God bless
I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Vitória da Conquista donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
stay strong, Rohan. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Take care
