I'm launching a bakery in Fukuoka next October. I have saved the start-up funds myself, but I have never run a business before. I've questions about pricing, suppliers, simple bookkeeping, hiring and - frankly - how not to burn out. I'm looking for a mentor with real small-business experience, ideally in a bakery, willing to have a monthly call for the first three months. I'll bring a list of questions and my numbers. If you have a few hours a month, and enjoy helping someone avoid the mistakes you made, I'd really appreciate it. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Thinking of you, Emi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 26 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.

    • Rooting for you. Small businesses are the heart of Fukuoka. Hope you're open again soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Springfield!

      • I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry

        • Wishing you the best, Emi. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Toronto so I could bring a meal. God bless!

          • best of luck, Emi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
