I coordinate donations at the Baobab Family Centre in Brandon. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Brandon, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Baobab Family Centre on Monday between 10am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Baobab Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • This could happen to any of us. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Málaga.

    • Wishing you the best, Natalie. I hope things turn around soon. After 24 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything

      • good luck, Natalie. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care!
