We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $500 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 117 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $300 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Tools hire and delivery: $85 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Leandro
