Natalie is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a diploma in hospitality management at Houston Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $6,100.
The registrar has said Natalie can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Natalie has a distinction average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Natalie would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Natalie isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Houston Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
