Every year the Community Soup Kitchen Night brings together 297 neighbors in San Diego. I help organize it with 4 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for registration, sorting donations and carrying boxes. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a long-standing tradition, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.

More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Thrissur
