Yvonne Yvonne Quaye
Master of blacksmithing, now teaching apprentices
- 🇬🇭 Obuasi, Ashanti, Ghana
- The Northside Workshop
- 1983 to 2002
- English
I've worked in blacksmithing from 1983 to 2002. I learned from my uncle and passed what I could on to 930 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 25 years later for another job.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Yvonne: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
