Takashi Sota Tamura
Mentor in first-generation students and engineering
- 🇯🇵 Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan
- Phoenix Youth Network
- 1988 to 2025
- Japanese
For 37 years I've mentored people in first-generation students and engineering. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

If I mentored you, I hope you're still pushing yourself.

What gifts mean to Takashi: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
