I coached basketball at Silverlake Youth Club from 2003 to 2016. Most of my players were between 12 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I'm always reading two books at once.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
