I coordinate donations at the Sycamore Family Centre in Tema. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Tema, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Sycamore Family Centre on Monday between 11am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Sycamore Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thank you for reading my story.

  • good luck. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care!

    • best of luck, Abena. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.

      • Take care. Your post was clear and honest. After 7 years in construction I know how hard it is to ask for anything.
