I coordinate donations at the Acacia Primary School in Sheffield. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Sheffield, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Acacia Primary School on Thursday between 10am and 2pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Acacia Primary School clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

take care, Alice. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Leeds.
Thinking of you and your family. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 21 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings
hope it all works out, Alice. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
