Guadalupe is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a pharmacy diploma at Bogotá State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $800. The registrar has said Guadalupe can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Guadalupe has a top-ten-percent average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Guadalupe would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Guadalupe isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $800 goes: • Final term tuition: $710 • Textbooks and materials: $50 • Exam and lab fees: $40 I hope life is good to you.
